In a faraway city, four beautiful girls lived with their Mum and their Dad. The girls loved Christmas, especially the presents they were given.

One day, the girls asked their father:

– “Does Santa put magic powder taken from fairies over his reindeers so they can fly?”

And their Dad replied: “No. That’s not true”.

Their Mum reprimanded their father for the answer he gave the girls:

“Of course fairies exist”, she said, “and they help Santa give beautiful presents to all children“.

When the girls woke up the next day, they exitedly ran to the Christmas tree. When they saw that Santa had left presents they believed the story their mum had told them and were very happy.

and they spent the whole day full of excitement, playing with all their new toys.

Once upon a time…

There was a girl called Sophie who really believed in Santa Claus, but the other kids didn´t, and were always telling her not to believe because he was not real. They were always trying to discourage her so that she would stop believing in him.

That year, on the 24th of December Santa Claus arrived. Even those who didn´t believe in him, saw him and he gave them what they wanted for Christmas.

From that moment, the kids always believed in Santa Claus, they knew he was magic and that he gave toys to all the children in the world.

They all agreed it was the best Christmas ever, and have always enjoyed Christmas since then. They asked their friend Sophie for forgiveness because they tried to take away her illusion and faith in Santa Claus.

And that is the end of the story…

Moral of the Short Story for Kids: You have to prove things before you decide that they don´t exist.

Values of the Short Story for Kids: Honesty, Trust.

The violet coloured dog girl had one job. To keep red coloured horse inside the fence and then, George the farmer would close the door, so that the horse would not eat the harvest of vegetables grown for the whole family.

But the red horse was friend to a flower called Rose Anna and, galloping, jumped over the fence.

The violet dog girl was shocked when she noticed that the horse had gone, so she rushed out as fast as she could to find him. Then she remembered that the horse was friend of the flower Rose Anna.

The dog girl did not get angry, because she knew she could visit them. They would play together and then go back to the fence to sleep.

George´s farm was full of harmony, everybody respected each other and helped each other in any way they could.

She bent every time somebody wanted to thread her, she resisted contact with a thread. But one day, she saw him and fell in love just looking at him.

It was a special thread, his colors, texture, stretchiness and thickness. Everything was particularly charming.

“It´s the most beautiful thread I’ve ever seen” she exclaimed. She whispered to her family of soft needles and invited them to meet her lovely Mr.Thread.

They observed him, gave their opinion; “He is attractive, but he is a stranger, don´t you think you should know more about him before allowing him take advantage of you”.

“It’s the first time I think I´m in good hands, and I don´t feel the need to avoid him. He is very mysterious because I don´t know where he comes from, or who he is, or what he wants to sew, I just know that if I help him I will feel good”.

The thread joined the paper needle and said:

“Don´t worry, don´t be afraid, you won´t have to sew, we will make a beautiful Christmas decoration together for the Christmas tree this year. I am gold coloured, lonely and old. Thanks for trusting me and discovering that I have something beautiful to give”.

And so, the paper needle and the thread united in love, created the most amazing Christmas Star.

THE END

The heron opened her beak and it took a second for the fish to realize that she was going to eat him. The fish said, very afraid:

-“No, please don´t eat me! I have a family and I really really love them. I don´t think I´m a good enough feast for you”.

The words moved the heron, who said:

– “Okay, little friend, I won´t eat you. We will become good friends from now on”.

From then on, the thankful fish recommended other things that the heron could eat from the pool. The heron visited him when she could, because she was very thankful for the good advice that his new friend gave her.

New Short Story for Kids written by: Rosa Godoy.

It was the first day of the holidays, and Peter was in his bed, feeling lazy, and not knowing what to do.

He had really wanted school to finish, but now it had, he did not know what to do. He reluctantly got up, because it was the fifth time his mum had called him.

He had breakfast and then sat down in the living room to play with his games console.

-“Peter! You are not going to stay the whole day here playing with your video games! Go out and play with your friends!!!”

Peter went to the park looking for his friends. but did not find anybody.

-“Ugh!!! what a bore!!!”

He sat on a bench beside Mr. Jordan´s Kiosk where he used to buy his sweets. The old man realized Peter was really bored and said:

-“Do you know what, Peter? I would like to have an assistant during the holidays. Would you like to come here every day and help me for a while? I am old and I need a rest”.

Peter´s eyes sparkled. He said to Mr. Jordan:

-“Do you really want me to help you in the kiosk? It would be amazing to stay here with all the amount of sweets and candies here…!!

-“Well, you will be able to choose a different one every night”. – Mr. Jordan said.

Peter had so much fun that day, and every day after during his holidays. His mum did not have to insist on waking Peter up again.

His was a different but great summer.

THE END

Once upon a time…

There was a traffic light. This traffic light was well known to all the cars in the city.

One day, a car passed by really fast and the traffic light said:

– “Excuse me Mister Auto, you can´t continue.”

And the car said: “Well, Mr. Traffic light, I will take another road”.

Next Wednesday, there was a new traffic light and the old one was sad because nobody saw him at his crossing.

Suddenly, a new car appeared driving along the empty road. The traffic light became really happy.

A kid was walking along the street. He was so kind that he said to the cars and to the traffic lights:

– “Are you arguing because one of you has a new friend, and the other has a new traffic light for a friend? Surely, the most important thing is to be everybody’s friend“.

They all agreed with the kid´s explanation. Were should always be happy to be like they are happily make new friends everyday.

And that is the end of the story.

THE END

Moral of the Short Story: Do not fight, friendship is more important.

Short Story for boys and girls written by: Diana

Once upon a time, there was a boy who loved playing different games. He liked to be many things, sometimes he was the wind, other times the rain.

One morning, as he was walking, he stopped and said:

-“Today, I want to be a twin!”

His mum laughed and said:

-“Ok, today you are a twin”

The kid called himself “Two” and said:

– “We want milk for breakfast, two eggs and two waffles”.

Two friends asked him on his way to school, which of the twins he was. The boy said:

– “We are both called Toto and will answer to that name”.

He sat in school using two chairs, read two books, made two drawings, played with two balls and even went back home twice from school.

He did everything twice, as if his twin brother really existed. The boy had so much fun every day.

When he was at home, his mum reminded him that he had to do his homework before playing. At that moment the kid changed his mind because he had to do his homework twice and he did not like that so much.

-“Enough! I don´t want to be a twin any more!” – said the kid.

Two´s mum laughed, and the kid said:

– “Tomorrow I will be a flute or a suitcase!”

And that is the end of the story…

Once upon a time there was a little mouse living in Africa. Suddenly, he saw a lion, and the little mouse ran away as far as he could because he was so scared.

The lion followed the mouse for several days but was unable to catch him.

Some days later, the lion was caught by hunters and he began to roar non stop to make them free him, but they did not.

The mouse heard him, and went up to the lion and said:

– “I will get you out of there, but first promise me that you won´t annoy me again, that you will be a nice lion“.

-“Ok, I will leave you alone, but please, get me out of here” – said the lion.

And the mouse nibbled at the fence with his small teeth and finally freed him. The lion was really thankful to the mouse for having helped him to escape.

They became very good friends from that moment.

Once upon a time there was a kid called Arthur who went to collect halloween sweets. He dressed up as a pirate and, after finishing asking for sweets, went home.

Arthur went to his room after dinner, took his teddy bear and fell asleep. His parents wished him good night and kissed him happily to sleep.

While sleeping, a noise gave him a start and he woke up. Arthur looked under the bed and there on the floor was a giant! But Arthur was not scared.

Then he heard another strange noise from inside the wardrobe and it was Mr. Vampire. Later still, he heard a noise coming from the window, and this time it was a ghost.

The noises continued increasing inside the room without stopping. Arthur was worried when heard the door open but calmed down when saw his parents, who had biscuits and Arthur’s halloween candies.

Together they ate the biscuits and candies he had collected that terrifying day.
