A sixteen months kid´s ability is causing a stir in Europe. The Manchester United from England, wanted to sign him up.

The kid is called Matjaz Kranec and is from the Slovenian city called Maribor.

The world is new for Matjaz, like for any other new kid. He has been reared with football since small, he could hold and throw balls with his hands with only six months old.

His father used to take him to the field every day to train, and nowadays, with only one year and four months old, can hit a ball very strong with his left foot.

The little became very famous, and now, one of the best football club of the world, The Manchester United, from England, wants him.

English press visited him at home, interviewed his father to discover what kind of things can the baby do, when they interview was over, invited them to go to England to live.

There, they found a job for the father, and took the kid to train with the young divisions of the Manchester United.

Thanks to all of these, the kid is so successful, and his parents earn lots of money. But the most important is that they all live very happy in England, and are so glad that the kid has such a gift which enjoys every day.

And that is the end of the story…

Short Story for Children written by: Agustin (10 years old).

It was a quite monday in spring, a normal day, but for Arnold was a big day. It was the day of the important match, the match to decide which was the best team of the school year.

The players of his team were: Arnold, Anthony, Josh Dempsey, Josh Milles, John, Gareth and Mark. And the players of the other team were, Sean, Peter, Mike, Philip Richards, Philip Olsen, Anthony Scully, Jack Thompson and Charlie Malcolm.

Arnold´s team had various exams after break time. The tension between the captains was felt in the air. Arnold and James looked at each other with tension.

And the match finally starts. They were matched, only five minutes left for the match to finish and the result was 0-0 tie, but finally arrived the goal shot, they passed the ball to each other until finally, Arnold advances alone with the ball toward the battlefront and shoots…. and… GOAAAAAAAAL !!!!!!!!!

The end of break time arrives and the bell sounds. The winner is Arnold´s team. The whole team celebrated it together at the end of the day in Arnold´s house.

And that is the end of the story…

Short Story written by: Ramiro García

Martin decided to play in Brazil for at least two more years to relax with his girlfriend and not think about moving away. Days later, he went to visit Argentina, to visit the places his friends had recommended him. He went for a week because he had a friendly game against England coming up and he wanted to be in good condition to do his best and have a chance of being spotted, which is what he had wanted from the beginning.

When he arrived in England, he went to train and then to workout in the gym to be in good condition for the match. Martin started the game and was very happy to step out onto his own country’s pitch.

During the game when Martin had the ball, another player tackled him and kicked him and Martin had to ask for medical assistance. Doctors said that he had broken his shinbone and so he left the football pitch. When the match finished his colleagues wished him a quick recovery. He went home on crutches, and his girlfriend was crying. The doctors said he needed surgery.

A year and a half later he had recovered, but his contract with Brazil was about to expire and so he waited for a job offer from England.

Finally, the long awaited job offer came from Manchester City Football Club. Martin began to cry for joy. He could finally play in his country. He told his girlfriend and they went to England together after a big goodbye party with his old colleagues. He said thanks and then he left with his girlfriend.

Martin proposed marriage to his girlfriend during his convalescence and they bought a beautiful house when they arrived in England. Then he went to train with his new team and became a permanent player from his first match. His team won 3 -0 , and two of the goals were scored by Martin.

That is how his life went on, always fulfilling his dream.

Once upon a time, there was a boy called Martin living in England, and his dream was to play for a professional football team in his country. He actually played for his neighbourhood team, and worked hard to improve every day so that he could one day reach his dream.

One day, he received an email from Brazil saying that they had seen him playing and wanted him in their team. Martin thought about it for a while and finally accepted.

He moved to Brazil a month later and when he arrived, the technical director of Santos, the football club where he was going to play was very happy to have him playing in his professional team. The technical director told him to relax in the hotel until the next match which would be against Club Universidad de Chile, in Chile.

The team went to train the next day and Martin was very excited. The trainer chose the footballers who would start the match during training and Martin was going to be a substitute, but he still had a big chance of playing some part in the match.

Days later, they travelled to Chile and it took them eleven hours to get there. The day of the match finally arrived and Martin was so excited to be part of a professional football match for the first time. After the first half, the team met in the changing room. The technician announced that there was going to be a substitution before going back for the second half and that Martin was going to be the player to go on. He was about to play in his first professional match.

80 minutes into the match, Martin’s team got a free kick. The referee reminded them that the score was 1-1. The technical director trusted Martin to take the shot, and, Goaaaaaaaaaal! He scored. Martin almost cried and he took off his shirt to celebrate. The referee blew the final whistle after a few minutes and the technical director and all the players congratulated Martin.

The next day, tired from the celebrations, the team went back to Brazil. Martin went to his hotel to study the matches of their next opponents, Corinthians, and then went excitedly to bed.

A year later, Martin had become a successful football player for Santos. Many football clubs wanted him, but none from England.

Once upon a time, there was a girl whose dream was to be football trainer.

But she didn´t care about the others, she just followed her dream ignoring what the others said. She made a great effort and studied and worked really hard, and finally she reached her dream.

She became a football trainer, and all those who had made fun of her because of her dream, apologized and learnt a lesson. They had been cruel to her and she had taught them never to give up but to fight for what you believe in.

Everybody was proud of her, and she lived happily ever after as she had become who she had wanted to be.

The race day arrived and Lily had a little secret. She had hooked the fireworks onto her back.

After the start signal Lily ran faster than ever. Her friends were left way behind with their mouths open, it was unbelievable!

Suddenly Lily began to scream, running from one side to other, around and around and she hit her head on the trees and plants. Then she ran towards her friends and they tried to escape from her.

Finally Lily stopped and collapsed exhausted while her friends looked on, astonished. That’s when she decided to tell them the truth which her friends did not like very much.

Lily had learnt a lesson and understood that if she kept lying to her friends they would not trust her anymore.

They used to play on a small tennis court with tall walls to prevent loosing balls, but Jamie was always complaining about how close the walls were.

-“Forget the walls” – his father used to say – “They´re not hindering you.”

- “Don´t you see the tennis court much smaller, dad? – Jamie asked one day.

– “Not at all, come on, focus on the game.”

Jamie was shocked, but decided to ignore it until something unexpected happened the weekend after.

– “Jamie… Jamie…” Is the wall talking? – thought Jamie – “Yes, you know you can also have fun using the walls. Why don´t you try to hit the ball against the wall and make it bounce towards your opponent?”

Jamie couldn’t believe it, it was the wall talking to him and was actually giving interesting advice.

– “I have never tried that.” – he replied, and began to play that way.

From that day, Jamie played tennis by hitting the wall first. He had learnt to make the best of a situation and, in addition, had invented a new sports game: Padel Tennis.

Once upon a time there was a girl called Iris who really liked playing football with the boys in her class. She had always been an special girl that had never liked to do the things other girls do.

The boys in her class liked Iris to play with them because she was a better football player than many other boys at the school, so they all respected her.

One day, Iris´ girl friends began to ignore her just because she liked football. Iris felt very sad, as she couldn’t understand why.

One morning on her way to school, Iris saw her friend Caroline and decided to talk to her:

– “Hi Caroline, I want to ask you something.”

-“what?”- said Caroline.

-“Why don´t you want me as your friend? Is it because I like to play football with the boys?” – asked Iris.

-“Yes, because you look like a boy, playing football or riding a bike with the boys.”

That stupid reason affected Iris, who answered: ” I don´t think that´s a reason to not be friends, I play with the boys because you don´t like playing sport and I do. But I also like to play with you and that should not be an inconvenience“.

Days passed and one morning Iris was playing football with two boys when Caroline and the other girls called over to her.

“Iris, we have been thinking about what you said and you’re right. If you like to play football it doesn´t mean you are a boy, and if you like to be with us, well then we like it too. Our friendship is what matters here, so, we are sorry, and we won´t ignore you again“.

That´s how Iris´ friends learnt to respect people and also learnt that there are not sports for girls or boys, there are just sports for those who like to play them.

THE END

Once Upon a time there was a football team that used to win every match because they were very good players.

They were about to play in the football World Cup final, but they weren´t nervous because they were better than the rival team, or at least that´s what they thought.

But to everyone´s surprise, the other team played better than them and won the match, 4 – 3. The result was surprising.

The other team had won the football World Cup, and the team that were known as the team that had never lost a match learnt to be more humble.

James was a peculiar boy who lived near a main square in London, he was 7 years old and what he most hated in the world was his sports class at school.

James didn´t like to practice sports at all and when he had sports class he would tell his mother he was sick, but his mother knew him very well.

His mother was worried, James was getting fatter and needed to play some sport. So she went to talk to the gym teacher.

The following week, James went to sports class feeling depressed but something was about to change.

After the conversation that James´ mother had with his teacher, the teacher realised that the boy needed motivating, and so he made a plan.

James´ teacher knew that he loved chocolates at lunchtime at school, so before starting class she said: “James, today we are going to play a special game. When I blow the whistle you have to run to the corner in less than a minute and a half. If not, today you won´t have any chocolate at lunchtime”.

James was shocked. He didn’t know what to do. He hated running but loved chocolate!

The teacher blew her whistle and shouted – “Run James!”

His legs were trembling and he couldn’t move, but then he imagined all those chocolates and suddenly started running very fast. Everybody was surprised at how fast he was.

James realised how good he felt doing a little sport, so from that day he always went to sports class and became a very healthy child.

THE END
