Short Story written by: Cecijorgeesofi.

Bananas Monkey was brown, and he really liked put on costumes, but what he most liked was to visit her friend Sophie to her house, without telling her. Bananas monkey lived beside the lake in where the banana tree was, in addition to a high palm tree to climb.

One day, Sophie was taking a bath, and didn´t hear Bananas monkey getting into her room. When the naughty monkey saw a tutu skirt on the bed, took it and put it on.

When Sophie went out with the housecoat she had received on her birthday, saw that her pink tutu which she was going to wear was not there. Asked her mom, but she did not know. So she went back to her room, got dressed with other clothes and went for a walk.

She saw something pink up on the palm tree so called her mom to tell her. None of them could believe what they were seeing, it was Bananas monkey climbing the palm tree wearing the pink tutu.

Sophie and Alice laughed so much and decided to give the tutu to Bananas, so everytime he wanted to dress up, would have the pink tutu.

THE END

- “Who takes care of the garden vegetables the same or more than George, the farmer?”

Our dear scarecrow; he was very good. Sophie and her mom made it with her dad´s old clothes. They put him a brown hat which had a yellow feather, a violet shirt and black trousers, he looked lovely.

From far, he looked like a real person, because he also had a wig and glasses. But the most important was that he was fulfilling his function. Because if the scarecrow was not there, all the birds, even Lily bird, who was Sophie’s friend, would eat all the seeds every time that george seeded, and the vegetable would never grow.

The scarecrow did his duty every day, protecting the harvest of the family. That is why the whole family loved him that much, because he was always taking care of the field, and he always made the others happy with his smile and his good mood. The scarecrow always saw the good side of things, was very optimistic.

There was a pigpen beside the Red Horse´s stable, where Pigui, two sibling pigs and mum and dad lived. Pigui was very special, he was a pig who loved playing in the mud.

They were all very happy when Sophie played loud music for them, because Pigui used to dance. He was the only one who would move and wallow in the mud. He always ended up very , very dirty.

At lunchtime, mum and dad used to ask all the pigs to wash themselves and remove any mud, but Pigui had mud all over him. He could barely see through his eyes. He did not like water at all and did not want to get wet. Even when it rained Pegui wore rubber boots and every other accessory to avoid getting wet.

That pig danced and wallowed in the mud so much that his mum and dad could only wash his mouth so he could eat the corn that George, the farmer, had given them for lunch. Even so, his Mum would teach him how important it was to wash himself everyday, especially before lunch.

This was a normal day for the pig family and they were very happy to be together.

Short Story written by: Maria Abreu

Once upon a time there was a young prince who was very grumpy and barely had any friends.

One night he was sleeping when a wise man appeared and said:

-These are the seeds of your life, you decide what to sow – And gave him a pile of seeds.

The grumpy prince was very shocked. He looked on at the wise man’s leaving and then looked at the seeds in his hands – and he started to feel very tired and fell asleep.

The next day when he woke up with the seeds still in his hands he realised that it hadn’t been a dream and decided to listen to what the man had said and went to the garden to sow them.

After some time ugly flowers began to grow and dry roses appeared.

The grumpy prince was very angry with the wise man. Why would he give him such bad seeds? So he went for a walk to forget about it and noticed that all the roses in town were beautiful and colourful, red and shiny, and this upset him even more.

He went furiously back to his palace and there stood the wise man waiting for him:

– The garden is your heart. You must decide your acts by listening to your heart – he said to the prince.

The grumpy prince woke up next morning with those words on his mind and decided to begin the day in a different mood than usual and he started to be nice with people, smiling at everybody.

One day he went into his garden and saw big and colourful flowers. He couldn´t believe it, what a surprise!

But then he noticed something strange, and when he got closer, he saw that one of the roses was trembling. Suddenly that red rose turned into a beautiful woman.

Those seeds were magic and the prince had learnt his lesson. He married the beautiful woman and wasn´t grumpy anymore.

THE END

Short Story written by: Yael Santos Diaz

There was a chick who was different to the rest because he was green, and all the animals always made fun of him.

– “I am lucky not to be ugly like the green chick” – said the other animals.

Every time the poor chick was alone he cried because of this.

Tired of the mocking, he decided to paint his feathers, but his mother didn´t agree with this, so instead, he bought a yellow chick costume to make his mother and himself happy with the idea. Well, actually his mum only let him wear the costume once.

Unfortunately, the rest of the animals made fun of him even when wearing the costume, and so he still didn’t know what the problem was.

His mum advised him to ignore them, because they were envious of him and that´s why they were so rude, but he wasn´t very confortable at school even by ignoring them.

So after a few weeks he took all his stuff and went to another chicken coop.

When he finally arrived, the new animals welcomed him and he lived there happily forever surrounded by friends and visiting his mother often.

THE END

Thomas is a special dog. He has black eyes, his hair is black except his paws, which are white and this makes it look like he is wearing socks.

He lives on a beautiful beach where he sometimes swims alone in the calm water, and at other times is with other people swimming and playing.

He loves cookies, loves to play with a ball, and to dig in the sand.

But he is a bit naughty and when he sees a ball, he can´t resist the temptation of running up and taking it and hiding it in the sand.

One day a little boy was building sand castles when lots of balls appeared under his castle. There were 124 tennis balls exactly!

When Thomas saw them, he ran to play with the little boy and realised that is was more fun to play with a friend than it was to play alone, and so he never hid a ball again.

THE END

Short Story written by: Luisa Fernanda Martinez (7 years old)

Sammy was a toad who wanted to fly like a bird. One day he met a heron at the lake to whom he said: “I want to fly like you do!”.

And the old heron replied: “Value yourself, don´t try to be like others”

But Sammy could not hold back his desire to fly. One morning he saw that another heron was crying: “What´s wrong?” – he asked her.

“I broke my wing and cannot fly” – said the poor bird.

“Don´t worry, I’ll take care of you until you get better.”

The heron got better after a few days and didn´t know how to thank Sammy; “Please let me compensate for what you´ve done for me. Ask for whatever you want.”

“Anything?” – said Sammy – “Well, I would love to fly like you and enjoy the view from the sky.”

The heron took one of Sammy´s leg and started to fly. Sammy enjoyed it so much because he was living his dream. But his happiness didn´t last for long. As soon as the rest of the herons joined Sammy, a big falcon approached the group and the birds flew away and so did the heron who was carrying Sammy.

Once they were far from the falcon Sammy said: “Thanks for making my dream come true, but I won’t try to fly again. Once is enough for me”

And the toad lived happily as a toad and has valued himself since then.

THE END

Short Story written by: Esperanza

I used to watch people’s behavior when I was little. Who I most liked to watch were kids.

I liked to see when they were happy or sad, laughing or quiet. People´s reactions were never the same in similar situations, some people would laugh while others would not, and this aroused my curiosity.

One day I saw a group of kids playing together, girls and boys, and I wanted to play too, So I went to them and asked one of the kids:

– “Hi, my name is Anna, I would like to play with you.”

– “Hi Anna, I´m Paul, sure! Come and join us!”

He went to tell the rest that I was going to play too, and it didn´t take long for me to realise that Paul was a nice boy who liked to help others. Children used to feel safe and comfortable with him, and he had lots of friends. It was like… he made people happy.

That made me happy too. If somebody is happy, it makes other people happy.

I still watch children’s behavior now that I´m old. They have the special gift of making people’s life easier, like Paul.
