Short Stories for Kids written by: Rosa Godoy Mendez.

– “Peter! Pick up your toys!” – said his mum for the fifth time.

But Peter was so excited with his new video game, that he didn´t obey his mother.

– “Please, Peter, I´m not repeating it again, it´s time to have a shower and then eat dinner”.

Peter reluctantly stopped playing the last video game of a game saga he was collecting; “Pirates from the cursed island”. It was super interesting.

After dinner, his mum asked Peter to help her clear the table, but Peter ran to his room to continue playing the video game, instead of picking up the dirty dishes.

– “This kid is such a disaster! Have you seen the bathroom? Peter, pick up your clothes! Peter! Peteeeeeeer!!”

The next day, Peter woke up wondering why his mum hadn´t called him at the same time as always to go to school. He went downstairs to the kitchen and what a surprise when there at the table sat was One-eyed Captain! the pirate from his video game!

– “Bu…but…where is my mum? What are you doing here?”

– “Your mum does not live here any more, she got tired of you ignoring her every time she asks you to do something. Now, I will live in your house with my crew, and you will do everything we order you to do”.

– “Bu..bu..but…”

– “But nothing, I was waiting for you to wake up to prepare my breakfast. Hurry up, my crew is about to come”.

Peter started working, preparing breakfast for the whole crew, and then had to clear the table, wash the dishes and tidy up the kitchen.

After many adventures through the seven seas, the Captain and his crew wanted to take a bath. After the bath, Peter had to pick up all the clothes and clean all the mess in the bathroom.

Peter spent the whole day following the pirates, picking up everything around. When night time arrived, Peter was very tired, and he asked the pirates to help him with the cleaning. The Captain looked at him and all of them started laughing. Then Peter woke up.

He then understood that it had all been just a dream, and thought:

– “My mum might be as tired as I was in my dream every night. From now on I´m going to help her , and I´m going to clean and tidy up”.

That day, His mum could not believe what she was seeing. Peter helped her to clear the table and he picked up his clothes. She didn´t understand what was going on, Only Peter knew every time he looked at his video game.

THE END

Moral of the short story for Kids: People don´t value what others do, until they are in the same situation.

Short Stories for girls and boys written by: Rosa Jimenez Peralta.

Once upon a time there was a girl called Dayane, she was very disobedient, never obeyed her mum, and her mum wanted to teach her a lesson. She punished her every time she behaved badly, but Dayana continued the same as always and didn’t care about the consequences.

She knew it was for her own good. Her mum loved her and didn´t want anything bad to happen to her, thats why she always gave her advice.

One day, Dayane woke up very early. When her mum saw her she told her to sit on a wood chair. Dayane didn´t want to, so her mom asked her to take another chair, but the rebellious girl said:

– “No!”

The chair moved and broke and she fell over. Her mom looked at her and said, “I told you” and laughed.

“See, dear daughter, I don´t ask you to do things to torment you, I tell you to do things for your own good, because I love you so much. And I´m laughing because I warned you and you ignored me. To obey is good, it is not a curse. Actually it is good, because I am showing you my love and you show me yours. If you don’t obey me I won´t know if you really love me. See what I want to do if you don´t change. As you always say, you have the obligation to do what I tell you to do, and you say it´s unfair because you have the freedom of doing what you want because you are independent and you don´t like me taking you out of danger. But if I order you to do something it is for your own good. Imagine living with a rude daughter. You wouldn’t like it when you are an adult, cooking, paying expenses, working, nobody would like you if you were like that. If you keep behaving so badly, I will have to send you to another place to study, but there, we won´t be together, we will only see each other once a week, or even less. Neither of us would like that, so, think about what are you going to do, I hope you change. I will help you to change to be a better person, if you do your part. We will work together to make you really happy, and I will be happy too if I see you doing well.”.

The girl´s eyes filled with tears because she knew that living far away would be difficult. She felt sorry and promised her mum she would change, and that she had deserved the punishment due to her bad behaviour with her mum.

From that day on, daughter and mum worked on their good manners, better education and, in short, human values that she had to learn. They lived together always and were very happy.

THE END

Moral of the Story: Always obey your parents, If you behave right, life will reward you. The love of a mother is the best in the world and we have to make the best of that love, demonstrating that we love her by obeying her.

Values of the Short Story: Obedience, love, recognising our mistakes, assuming the consequences.

Once upon a time…

There was a very brave cat called Bubu. He was always up to mischief and did not like to obey or help his mum. What he really liked was to go out and play between the small trees and flowers in the garden, while mum watched through the window.

One day, the little kitty climbed up to the window as from there he could watch all the houses around. He especially kept his eyes on one courtyard where there was a tree.

He wanted so much to escape and go there that, without measuring the consequences being adventurous and bold, left the garden.

Suddenly, he got goosebumps when he heard a bark and without a moment’s hesitatation climbed up the tree.

His heart was beating so fast and his paw got stuck between the tree branches. It hurt so much that he meowed for his mum. When mum heard her son she went out to look for him.

The worried mum found the tree and climbing up as fast as she could, carefully, untangled Bubu.

He cried and cried, holding his mum tightly and promised never to abandon her again.

Now Bubu is so loving, and he always obeys his mom since that day.

And that is the end of the story…

Once upon a time, there was a kid going out of his house, he was going to ride his bicycle, suddenly, turned to the left, because had seen a girl passing.

As he was distracted, a car passed really near and almost ran over him; he fell to the ground, got hurt, and the bike broke in peaces.

The kid went back home with many scrapes, wounds and a broken leg.

His family used to advise him to not ride his bike during those hours, but the kid did not listen, disobeying his parents.

So, he learnt the lesson, and never disobeyed his family again, because it was always for his own good. The kid learnt the lesson.

And that is the end of the story…

Short Story for Kids written by: Cynthia de los Santos.

Once upon a time there was a very naughty boy, he used to hit and treat his class mates badly. One day, he went for a walk with his parents, he took lots of toys before going out and they went to the park; which had many games, lots of trees and a lake.

There were ducks and fishes in the lake, and he was having so much fun.

He was there without obeying his dad and mom, Hitting people and saying swear words (that is not right).

He went running somewhere to hide, so his parents could not see him, they were very worried, thinking something had happened to him.

When the kid realized he was alone started to cry reconsidering his behavior; because he knew he had to obey and not be rude to his friends and mates.

His parents arrived where the kid was, and explained him that he could not hit or insult people, because lots of them take care of him and want his good. Per example, Educational people (teachers, grandfathers…) the same with children, they have to be friends and get along well, having affection.

The family was better after the shock passed, and they all ate and laughed happily at the park.

And that is the end of the story…

Once upon a time there was a badly brought up kid who never obeyed his mother. One day, his mother was ironing his clothes and asked him to stand back, but he ignored her and ended up burning himself with the iron.

The next day, he went to the school and his teacher was boiling water. She asked Dustin to step away from the water but he ignored her and burned himself in the same place he had been burned the day before.

The teacher talked later to Dustin to make him understand that he has to obey his teachers and his parents because they do everything for his sake.

The boy learnt his lesson and from that moment, he listens to the advice that his elders give him. This is how nothing bad has ever happened to him again, and so he is very happy.

THE END

Once upon a time there was a girl who lived in a faraway village. She had to obey her mother now she was feeling better.

It turns out that two years ago the girl did not have to go to school and that her mother had given her permission to walk through the fields, but she first had said:

– “Be careful of the chocolate house, and don´t talk to strangers“.

-“Yes, mum”

But the girl then ignored her mum and went directly to the chocolate house nearby. Mister Candy had put a cake outside for the girl and then captured her and put her inside a cage so that he could eat her the very next day.

But as the girl woke up earlier than Mister Candy, she found the keys to the cage, opened the door and ran back home. When Mister Candy woke up she had gone.

When the girl arrived home she told her mum everything but was forgiven because the girl had learnt her lesson.

THE END

Once upon a time, there was a farmer who owned a flock of one hundred sheep. They went out every day to graze in the leafy fields. One day, one of the sheep disobeyed his master and escaped.

The owner used to advise them not to go far on their own because there was a wolf hanging around those fields that would hurt them.

The naughty sheep had ignored him and had walked away happily. After a while, the owner noticed that one of his sheep was missing and went to look for her very worried, leaving the other 99 sheep alone.

He searched but could not find her and this made him think the worst. Then it started to rain and snow, but the farmer ignored the bad weather and kept on searching for her.

Suddenly he heard a voice, it was somebody asking for help. The farmer ran to the place where the voice was coming from and found the lost sheep there. The wolf was about to eat her but the owner rescued her. Then he brought all his one hundred sheep back home together, and they had a big party to celebratethat they were all together again.

The sheep had learnt his lesson and never disobeyed her owner again.

THE END.

Short Story written by: Familys.

Once upon a time, there was a little elephant that had the bad habit of scaring other animals with the noise coming from his little trunk. He laughed at the other animals and used to stand behind them and blow with all his might. The rest of the animals where annoyed with him because of his pranks.

One day he scared a baby lion, who had hiccups. The lion’s parents went to talk to the elephant’s mother. The little elephant ran away afraid of being punished and eventually got lost. He cried inconsolably, thinking that, if his mother found him, he would stop being so naughty.

His mother realised that her little elephant had gone, but first thought that he was just hiding, but after a while, went to look for him.

The little elephant hopefully blew his little trunk again and again. Suddenly he saw his mother from afar and ran to her.

They were so happy that they touched trunks and the little elephant promised that he would not ran away again, and that he would stop being naughty, or at least he would try.

And that is the end of the story.

THE END

Short Story written by: “The Ecologist”

One day a dreamy girl was taking a walk with her parents when the sky turned grey and it was about to rain. The girl, who had a beautiful, curly, black hair looked up at the sky with her big brown eyes and saw that the drops of the rain, were love drops from God.

The curious girl decided to investigate what the drops were exactly, she analysed them and discovered that they were actually drops of moral values, which could help her be a better person.

The first drop contained gratitude, which showed her all the marvellous things that God has done for us. Gratitude is an important value for with it we can appreciate what people do for us and be grateful.

She kept walking and stopped to analyse the beautiful forest with its animals, plants and trees. They were all special and she felt happy to be breathing pure air. How grateful she was to be there!

Later, she was playing with her parents when another drop touched her. It was the drop of responsibility, that teaches us to obey our parents and to love and respect them, because parents are the first ones that teach you how to take care of each other. Love, solidarity, cooperation and responsibility, are all values that a family teaches and that help form a person´s personality.

And of course, it is important to be responsible and to fulfil your obligations and to help at home.
