One cloudy day Claudia decided to change her route to school and pass in front of an enchanted house, known by everybody in town.
Her grandmother had told her scary stories about the house when she was younger, and had warned her never to approach the house. But Claudia was very curious and couldn´t avoid the temptation of walking passed the house and looking into it.
With her grandma´s words in her mind, she put one foot in front of the other and began to walk directly up to the house´s porch.
She looked through the window but couldn’t see anything. She stood there observing the house, the dusty windows and the oxidized bars, and was so eager to know what was inside that she pushed one of the windows open and went inside.
She was in a big living room full of old covered furniture. She was a bit scared, but also excited. She walked cautiously up the hall and then into a corridor touching everything she found on her way.
Suddenly a little ghost appeared smiling in front of her! Claudia jumped backwards and screamed!.
“Don´t be scared, I´m not going to hurt you, my name is Caspy” – Said the ghost.
But Claudia was so shocked that she couldn’t say a word. Caspy noticed how scared she was and flew around the house acting as if he was hitting his face against the walls and then pulling funny faces.
Claudia started to laugh loudly – “Careful, ha ha ha!” – said the girl.
“Ha ha ha, don´t worry, I´m only messing about, I´m a nice ghost. I’m the house keeper”
“So, why do people say ghosts are bad?” – she asked him.
“Because people talk before they know. Not all ghosts are the same.”
The bell in the clock sounded and Claudia realised she was going to be late. “I have to go to school. Can I come tomorrow?” she asked.
“Sure! I would love you to, but please don´t tell anyone about me.”
And so she didn’t. Claudia kept her secret and visited Caspy every day becoming his best friend.
