A long time ago, in a faraway kingdom there was a huge castle in which lived a young princess called Elisabeth.

Elisabeth had just turned 18 years old and every year when she blew out the candles on the birthday cake, she made the same wish.

Do you know what was the princess’s wish? Nobody in kingdom did, but faraway lived an evil witch who knew the young princess’s wish.

The witch was jealous of the princess’s beauty.  So when Elisabeth was 3, she gave her a potion. From that day on, on every birthday a wart appeared on the princess´ face.

But when she turned 18, before blowing out her candles, Elisabeth made her wish, “I want all the warts on my face to disappear, please.“.

Her wish was never fulfilled and, as on every birthday, she went to bed feeling really sad. When she woke up, something unbelievable had happened. Elisabeth looked in the mirror and when she saw her face she couldn’t believe it. She had no warts on her face!

The princess started to shout; “My wish has been fulfilled!” and went out to tell everybody in the kingdom.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the kingdom, the evil witch was banging her head against the wall. She had made a mistake with her potion and from that day on, the princess would be prettier than her.
