A CARICATURE OF MY MUM

Short Story written by: Rotsen Zerep.

My classmates asked me what I had given my mum for Mother´s Day, and I told them I had given her her a caricature. They asked me why and I said I didn’t have money and that is why I had drawn her.

A month before Mother´s Day, I asked my mom to wake me up. When she did, she would sit and watch the news on TV, and when I had finished my breakfast I used to draw her without her even noticing.

GOBLIN FRANKY

Short Story written by: Martha Bianchi

After a long day hard at work, John, the woodcutter looked for a refuge to spend the night. He came across an abandoned house and he pushed the door, so that it creaked and went inside to have a look around.

– “This is so abandoned!” – he said in a low voice while observing the place. He dropped his bag on the floor, saying “I will try to sleep for a bit”. Then he put some blankets between some wood furniture.

NAUGHTY MOUSE

Short Story written by: Ruderico Diaz (dedicated to my children: Carmela, Rude, Roman)

Once upon a time, there was a family of colourful mice, that were black, white, brown, yellow, red and even blue.

The dad and the mum of this big litter of mice were very proud of their children, especially with the diversity of colours that produced more colours when mixed, like green, orange, pink, beige and grey, making a magic and colourful prism which transmitted happiness to those who were sad,  just by looking at it.

ANGEL WINGS (SECOND PART)

Short Story written by: Sharon Krager

As the school year went by, Amanda missed more and more days. I felt sad for her. Her Mother would pick up her homework and bring it back so that Amanda wouldn’t fall too far behind. I found out that she had to have surgery on her tumour and I was worried about her.

I found out that she didn’t live too far from me and then another friend of mine told me where she lived.

I made it a point of going to see her one Saturday afternoon a couple of weeks after her surgery. I knew that she was recuperating, so I didn’t want to go too soon. Her Mother met me at the door and welcomed me in.

Tuesday was the first day back at school after a long, hot summer vacation. I got up a little early to make sure I had everything ready to start my first year in high school. This was going to be a great beginning of a great four years for me. All of my friends felt the same way I did. They were ready to get out of junior high and move up to the big school, Feldman High.

BLACK AND WHITE

Short Story written by: Viviana Martinez (Colombia)

Hi mum, I am going to tell you something that happened to me today at nursery school. Imagine for a minute that I was the new girl at school and everybody saw me differently but that I was in the middle of everything; Do you know what, mummy?, I met a skinny girl, with long, black hair like Rapunzel´s, but also curly. She has chocolate coloured skin and a heart full of love and happiness, and she hugged me with her soft arms.
