INTERNATIONAL CHILDRENS BOOK DAY

The 2nd of April is a special day for us. It is “International Children´s Book Day”. On this date, one of the most important fairy tale writers of all times was born. The Danish writer, Hans Christian Andersen, author of famous tales like: The Ugly Duckling, The Little Mermaid, The Emperor´s New Clothes and The Steadfast Tin Soldier.

Short Stories´ writers create beautiful stories and tales from their own imagination. Stories that reach out to people making them enjoy and feel the stories. There is no story without a writer and no writer without a reader.

THE SINCERE WITCH

Once upon a time there was a witch who always said what she was thinking. She was the most honest witch at all times.

That was her problem. She got into trouble sometimes because of her honesty. One day she wanted to capture a monster and said: “Monster! Stay still, I need to cast a spell on you and I can´t if you are moving!”.  And of course, when the monster heard this, he ran away and never came back.

WHEN I WOKE UP

An ordinary day like any other day of my life begins when I brush my teeth to get ready for school.

No shouting by my mum and dad was strange. There usually isn’t a day goes by when I don’t get a peck on the cheek from mom or a pat and a smile from dad. Maybe they’re so fast asleep that I’d better eat breakfast and skip drinking milk.

Once upon a time there was a 5 year old boy called Gary who was scared of going out at night because he thought that the moon was going to fall from the sky.

His parents always said: “You don´t have to be scared, the moon won´t fall.”

Gary didn’t know why, but he was very scared and imagined the moon falling and crushing him.
